ABSTRACT
Pyogenic granuloma is a benign vascular neoplasm of skin and mucous membranes. It is also known as Botriomycome. It results from inflammatory hyperplasia of mucosa or the skin. Females are more commonly affected probably due to the vascular effects of hormones that occur during puberty, pregnancy and menopause. Intraorally, gingiva is the most commonly (75%) affected and rarely have been reported on extragingival sites like palate, buccal mucosa, tongue and lips. Intraorally, the lesion appears as a hyperplastic inflammatory response to local irritation or trauma. Extra oral sites commonly involved are the skin of face, neck, upper and lower extremities, and mucous membrane of nose and eyelids. Clinically, pyogenic granulomas are characterized as a smooth or lobulated exophytic lesion with colour ranging from red/pink to purple. The mass may have a pedunculated or sessile base and is usually non tender but it can bleed on touch. Hereby we are reporting an unusual location of pyogenic granuloma on tongue.

Background: The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is one of the major health crisis worldwide. Mental health of medical and nursing staff met greatly challenged during the immediate wake of the viral epidemic and most of the studies focused on short term impact of pandemic. This study tried to explore the long term impact of Covid-19 on functional health status and QOL among nurses. Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the impact of Covid-19 on functional capacity and Quality of Life (QOL) among female nurses. Methods: 50 Nurses working in COVID-19 pandemic were included. Their functional status was assessed using 6minute walk test (6MWT) and SF- 36 questionnaire was used to evaluate the Quality of Life. The data was collected and analysed with appropriate statistical tools. Results: The study results showed that the mean value of 6MWT observed in nurses was 298±117meters and average Gait speed was 0.85±0.28 meters per second. SF-36 scores which is related to the QOL shows that, the least scored components of quality of life was role limitation to physical health (Mean/SD =12.50±29.12 ) followed by role limitation due to emotional problem (Mean/SD=37.30±18.62) and role limitation due to energy/fatigue (Mean/SD=37.80±18.16). The highest score was obtained for the component social functioning (Mean/SD=53.50±14.95). Conclusion: This study concluded that functional ability of nurses worked in Covid pandemic is reduced and health related quality of life observed low in the component of role limitation due to physical health.

ABSTRACT
Rauwolfia vomitoria has been observed to ameliorate and prevent cisplatin-induced neural loss due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. To investigate the effects of ethanol extract of R. vomitoria (RV) leaf on lipid profile, oxidative stress biomarkers, and the cerebellar histology using cisplatin-induced oxidative stress in Wistar albino rats. Thirty-six (36) rats were randomly shared into four groups (n=9). Group1 (positive control) received drinking water and rats feed. Group 2 (negative control) received cisplatin (5mg/kg body weight) via intraperitoneal (IP) injection. Group 3 received cisplatin (5mg/kg body weight) and 100mg/kg/day (RV). Group 4 received cisplatin (5mg/kg body weight) and 200mg/kg/day (RV). RV was given for 20 days via oral gavage while the single dose of cisplatin was given intraperitoneally on the first day. On day 21, lipid profile was analyzed, oxidative stress biomarkers activities were determined, and the cerebellum was prepared using Haematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) and Cresyl Violet (CV) staining techniques. Cisplatin elevated total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), and low density Cisplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy drug used to treat various types of cancers. lipoprotein (LDL) (p>0.05). The TC, HDL, and LDL in the RV-treated groups reduced slightly (p>0.05), while TG was further elevated (p>0.05). The cisplatin group had an insignificant rise (p>0.05) in lipid peroxidation malondialdehyde, glutathione, catalase, and superoxide dismutase. RV further elevated these values. Cisplatin distorted the cerebellar cortex histology by causing altered Purkinje cell bodies, infiltration of the pyknotic Purkinje cells into the granular layer, fatty changes and vacuolation. The cerebellar histology of rats in groups 3 and 4 showed considerable improvement. The administration of ethanol extract of Rauwolfia vomitoria significantly suppressed oxidative stress, increased antioxidative capacity, ameliorated the histological alterations of the cerebellum, and demonstrated neuroprotective ability against cisplatin-induced neurotoxicity.

Renal failure because of chronic kidney disease (CKD) leads to increased accumulation of uremic toxins due to decreased glomerular filtration rates. This in turn has a bearing on other metabolic functions in the body. Hemodialysis in end stage renal disease helps in elimination of toxic metabolites but long-term dialysis and the underlying chronic inflammation could affect immune cell activity, one of the main factors contributing to CKD associated complications and mortality. In this review, we tried to compile the important immune cell types and their different parameters that are altered in hemodialysis patients and the downstream impact of such alterations.

Tracheal extubation is known to cause a rise in systolic, diastolic and arterial blood pressure. Present study was conducted to compare MgSO4 and Esmolol with regards to their effects on haemodynamic extubation stress response in patients after general anaesthesia.
Methods: Study population comprised of 60 patients aged between 20 and 50 years, with ASA grade I and II scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia with intubation. Group M received IV magnesium sulphate-40mg/kg and Group E received IV esmolol-0.6 mg/kg, both diluted in 100 ml NS started 5 minutes before extubation. Intergroup comparison of heart rate, mean arterial pressure, systolic and diastolic blood pressure was done before extubation, at time of extubation, 3mins, 5mins and 10mins after extubation. Quality of extubation was evaluated and compared between groups with extubation quality score and modified Ramsay sedation score.
Results: Demographic details were statistically comparable between study groups in terms of age, weight, sex, ASA grade. Mean HR after extubation was significantly lower in group E (p<0.05). MAP, SBP and DBP after extubation were significantly lower in esmolol group (p<0.05). Mean EQS was significantly higher in group E (p<0.05) after extubation. Mean MRS was higher in group M after extubation (p<0.05).Mean extubation time in group E was lower than group M (p<0.05)
Conclusion: Haemodynamic parameters were well controlled with both esmolol and MgSo4 and the readings were in clinically normal range for both groups. However quality of extubation and sedation was superior with MgSo4.

ABSTRACT
The aim of this study: is to assess bone height changes under screw retained maxillary implant supported complete denture using two types of framework casted metal versus electric welded at one year follow up period. This split mouth study on screw retained implant supported maxillary complete denture supported by 6 implants, where the study were conducted in two groups each participant maxillary ridge was blindly allocated to right or left side, either group I (metal casted framework group (the gold standard treatment choice or group II ( intraoral electric welded framework) then both groups were received a picked up screw retained hybrid prosthesis sectioned in the mid line , palate less and reduced in the 2nd premolar area. Bone height changes assessment were evaluated by performing a standardized digital periapical radiographs using parallel technique(long cone technique) around each implant in both mesial and distal aspects. Through the 1 year follow up period there was a significant difference in increasing bone height changes though out the follow up period in both groups (casted group and welded group), whereas the electric welded framework shows the least amount of bone height changes. 1- there was bone height changes around implants through the whole follow up period in both groups, where bone height changes yields lower values in the electric welded group than that in the conventional casted group.

This study was conducted to determine the economic impact of producing dental prostheses using three alternative methods: traditional casting (hotpress), CAD/CAM casting, and shell sintering technology (SST). In order to evaluate costs, get accurate information, and quantify overhead aspects, deterministic bottom-up economic models were used. The inputs utilised to create the models focused on the costs of materials, equipment, labour, and the time required to complete each stage of the porcelain crown manufacturing process. The economic models revealed that the SST method has the lowest material and labour costs, while the hotpress technique has the lowest equipment expenses. However, hotpress had the highest manufacturing costs and is thus the most expensive technology, with an average return on investment of 17% and a payback period of 5.9 years. In second place, despite the significant material and equipment acquisition costs, the CAD/CAM Casting process achieved a 35% ROI with an average payback period of 2.9 years. Even though these economic values are adequate, the SST technology revealed extremely advantageous values for low and large-scale processing of dental crowns, achieving above 180% ROI with a payback of 0.5 years. The key finding from all the data is that SST has excellent economics and has the potential to improve the dental prosthesis manufacturing industry.
